XXIX. All victory is yours, O Sovereign Lord!

“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.  The Father and I are one.” -John 10:27-30

All victory is yours, O Sovereign Lord!

To know such, sure in faith, brings peace to man.

No death, no peril, nor Hell’s thickest cord

Shall tear from You one soul that to You ran.

You lose no part of Father’s gift to You,

And those whose hope You are—You and none other—

May trust Your faithful word to make them new,

Though their great weakness all their hope would smother.

Your Power scatters demons, cures our ills,

To sudden calm turns treach’rous storms and thoughts.

To hand to You our lives, our hearts, our wills,

Means resting in the triumph You have wrought:

The triumph of the Cross, to world mere tale,

But courage for those like me, cowards frail.
